At only $1,400 per family member (airfare not included) we provide all lodging, in-country transportation, meals, guides, medical insurance, activities and a donation to Mason Gives so we can continue the good in Guatemala. Proposed Itinerary (Subject to change):
Friday: Arrive in Guatemala City. Spend the night at the Barcelo Hotel.
Saturday: Breakfast at the Barcelo Hotel, travel to the Spanish colonial town of Antigua for a day of taking in cultural and religious sites.
Sunday: Begin hiking the Acatenango Volcano. Arrive at basecamp and watch the nearby and active Volcano Fuego erupt. Camp on Acatenango.
Monday: Summit Acatenango Volcano and watch the sunrise. Descend the volcano and travel to Lake Atitlan, Panajachel.
Tuesday: Service day in the highlands of Guatemala.
Wednesday: Cultural Day on Lake Atitlan visiting the towns of San Juan and San Marcos.
Thursday: Visit Faith Seeds and the Quetzaltenango dump. Faith seeds is an organization which helps educate the children whose parents work at the Quetzaltenango City Dump.
Friday: Zip lining in the Atitlan Natural Reserve, shopping in Panajachel and travel to Guatemala City.
Saturday: Fly home.
